TASK: To redesign the Google Homepage using SCAMPER method
This redesign project explores how the Google homepage can evolve using the SCAMPER method, a creative thinking tool that encourages innovation through structured modifications. The approach involved:
š¹ Substituting: About to āGā Google icon and
Search bar to āOāsā of Google.
š¹ Combining Gmail, images and apps, labs into profile. Feeling Lucky, Explore and add Google Trends into āGOOGLEā as buttons for the letters.
š¹ Adapt: Reactive and versatile button in search bar.
š¹ Modify: Style of the design, to more minimal
logo of voice search, image search into text. Modifying the search bar by making it adaptiveāexpanding when needed and providing instant search suggestions in a more visual manner.
š¹ Putting to another use: G(Google trends), L(feeling Lucky), E(Explore)
š¹ Eliminating unnecessary clutter and distractions to enhance the clean aesthetic while ensuring accessibility improvements, such as a āGoogle Searchā button, other languages
and store options.
š¹ Reorder text, voice and image
The final design maintains Google's simplicity while offering enhanced customization, accessibility, and engagement, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
